Good things, chosen carefully

We buy British meat and fish, and most of our vegetables are British and seasonal. Our oysters come directly from the Whitstable Oyster Company, where we took the team for a trip to see the place behind one of our favourite Friday rituals. Our charcuterie is made in London by Cobble Lane, and we love putting British cheese on the table. We choose suppliers who care about how their food is produced, but the final question is always whether it tastes wonderful and belongs in our pub.

Scotties is run by Lou Scott, who is now our neighbour. Her coffee comes to us from just a few steps away: a lovely example of what happens when a local independent makes something we genuinely want to serve.
